The new film adaptation of John Le Carré’s 70s Cold War novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is released in the capital’s cinemas this Friday. With strong reviews coming out of the Venice film festival last week, it is sure to be one of the British films of the year. As it’s directed by swedish cinéaste Thomas Alfredson, he who made the brilliant Let The Right One In, and has collected the finest film acting gentlemen that Britain has to offer for its cast (Gary Oldman, John Hurt, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Tom Hardy, Toby Jones, and Benedict Cumberbatch), we are obviously very excited by the prospect that it could match up to the BBC’s feted Alec Guiness starring 70s TV series. We are even more excited though by the hair on show in the trailer, and the replica 50s to 70s Piccadilly tailor suits by costume designer Jacqueline Durran.

To get Gary Oldman’s George Smiley dry, slick backed parting, try Murdock Matt Putty. It gives your hair the vintage slicked backed look without overloading the hair with an oily texture like some products.
For Colin Firth’s wavier and looser style, try Hair Play. Style it in the morning and rest assured that it will stay in place all day.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is released in UK cinemas on 16th September. Watch the trailer here
